5Dimes Review
5Dimes is a great choice if you are looking to expand your options and add new places to bet. This book accepts US citizens and has good customer service and support to go along with a huge selection of wagering options. 5dimes also features generous bonus offers, a solid reputation built up over the years (the book was established in 1999), reliable payouts, and a nice user interface.
Betting Options
5Dimes is virtually unmatched as far as wagering options. One of the comments on the site says the player feels like “a kid in a candy store!” and I can’t disagree after playing at this book. Currently there are thousands of options available, spanning major sports such as American football, soccer, hockey, baseball, tennis, and golf. There are also lines offered on cricket, wrestling (professional), snooker, and darts. 5dimes also carries lines on major poker tournaments such as the World Series of Poker, and you can even bet on the lotto and stock market at 5dimes!
5Dimes often offers very aggressive and early lines. For example, the college football season is over 6 months away, and yet 5dimes has posted lines to some of the major games. There are also NFL regular season win totals posted before the current Super Bowl winner has even been crowned. Futures, props, and adjusted lines are all offered in abundance at 5dimes. Virtually every single game offered has a money line, even with spreads as high as 50 points or more! 5dimes offers “two way” lines on almost all props and futures, which means you can bet a long shot prop at 100/1 or bet against it at 1/150 or so. It is truly incredible to see the massive selection at 5dimes that changes every single day.
This section of the review could really go on for a while, but I can’t end it without mentioning the live betting. 5dimes offers live betting on most major American sports that are on national TV. There are in game props, spreads, totals, and moneylines offered every day at 5dimes. The live betting mostly takes place in the bigger sports such as football and baseball but there are also sometimes live lines on other sports or events.
5dimes also offers some truly “off the wall” bets such as high school football. This makes them the place to go if you’re looking for some action that isn’t offered anywhere else.
Bonuses
5Dimes offers some great value to players with its “nickel lines” which are overnight lines dealt at -105/-105 instead of the standard -110/-110. In addition to this, 5dimes offers a nice 20% freeplay bonus for all players on their reload. This is good on all deposits of $250 up to $2500. It is offered with the condition that the amount be rolled over 5x before being added to your account. This is not too bad at all and should satisfy most players.
Security and Licensing
5Dimes is a secure site and your money is safe there, no matter how high your balance goes. There are currently no licenses in Costa Rica, where 5Dimes is based, but as we mentioned before, the book has been going strong since 1999. 5Dimes has consistently scored high on many player reviews and also objective, third party sites that have tested the site’s security and reliability. You can trust 5Dimes with your hard earned (or hard won!) money.
Professional vs. Recreational Bettors
5Dimes is a nice choice for professionals, especially those in the USA. It offers high limits and pros are sure to find many soft lines across the myriad options offered every single day. 5Dimes will limit professional players at some point, but their risk tolerance is pretty high, and you will always get paid out as long as you don’t cheat the book or commit fraud.
Recreational players will find many great values at 5dimes also. If you live in the USA and want to bet on a local high school football game, or a small time college football match, you most likely will be in luck at 5Dimes. Some of the props are clearly geared to smaller players since the limits are sometimes low ($50 or so.) The site is easy to use and will appeal to players looking for speed or simply a good sweat on the night’s games.
Payouts
5Dimes has a solid track record of payouts stretching back to 1999. Every transaction is treated with the highest security measures in the industry. Players can deposit and withdraw using Visa, Person-to Person transfer, Cashier’s Check, Bank Wire, Sportsbook Transfer, Instadebit, Neteller, Skrill Moneybookers, and Click2Pay. Most of these options are not available in the USA but some are and again they are all reliable if they are offered to your country. 5dimes offers one free withdrawal per month, and then there are fees that range from $0 up to $80 per withdrawal, depending on the method you use. Check with live support or send them an email for current rates, or give them a call and try their excellent phone support. They are available 24 hrs a day to serve you as a customer.
Overall
Overall there is not much to complain about at 5Dimes. They offer an amazing menu of bets, fast and safe payouts, good bonuses, high limits, and a user friendly interface. The only possible gripe is with the sometimes confusing rules on certain props or exotic bets, but the site has just recently updated its rules again (earlier today, actually) to help alleviate this problem. Also, some payout options are limited in some countries, but that is more a function of local governments than the site itself. I would certainly add 5dimes to my list of places to play, whether you are a high roller or someone first getting into betting.
